Ingham State High School, flanked by sugar cane country in north Queensland, is typical of its era.
Built in the early 1950s, the original multi-storey building with winding staircases has seen multiple additions over the years, connected, as school principal Judith Fenoglio describes, by “a random, eclectic collection of pathways and rooflines”.
While it’s safe to say Ingham State High School is unlikely to win any cutting-edge architectural awards, it has lofty aspirations regardless………………………
