Although the Arab region has made significant progress in literacy over the past 5 decades, an estimated number of 50 million adults are still illiterate and the numbers are steadily growing. According to the World Bank (2019), the adult literacy rate in the Arab region (73%) is much lower than the world average (86%).
UNESCO Beirut developed this online course for Adult Learning and Education and Lifelong Learning facilitators and policy-makers to upskill, reskill and newskill in the fields of ALE&LLL.
The online course offers comprehensive content on the new trends and approaches of adult learning education and lifelong learning in the light of the future of education beyond COVID-19, with a certificate of completion.
