India: Our country must move on from functional literacy to lifelong learning: Venkaiah Naidu

After conferring the Nehru and Tagore Literacy Awards instituted by the Indian Adult Education Association, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu talked about ‘Education in India‘ while addressing the gathering.

At the gathering which was held yesterday, the VP said, ‘literacy gives dignity and self-confidence to individuals.’

”Our country must move on from universal functional literacy to skill development and lifelong learning,” he added.

Further, Naidu went on to say that learning is a continual process and we need to develop an efficient programme involving all the stakeholders to achieve the goal of building a learning society.
