Souljourn Yoga Foundation (http://www.souljournyoga.com/) , a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds for girls’ education in developing countries across the globe through the healing practice of yoga, is hosting its second yoga retreat, “Yoga Adventure Rwanda.” The retreat will benefit the girls of Komera (https://komera.org/) , a non-profit organization whose aim is to build self-confident young women through education, community, and sport. Join Souljourn Yoga Foundation founder Jordan Ashley, and Reiki Master and yoga teacher Joanne Silver, for the adventure of a lifetime exploring the rich and diverse culture of Rwanda, the “land of a thousand hills”.
On this fully-immersive 10-day journey, attendees will spend time monkey trekking in Nyungwe Forest National Park, game driving in Akagera National park, hiking in Volcanoes National Park, and boat riding on Lake Kivu, in addition to daily yoga sessions. Attendees will also dive into the local culture, working with the strong women of Komera to experience a “Day in the Life of an Artisan,” and see firsthand how their support can make a true impact.
“Yoga is such a liberating, healing practice,” says Souljourn Yoga Foundation founder, Jordan Ashley. “I wanted to share that by taking yoga off the mat in an effort to promote gender equality and female empowerment across the globe. Through Yoga Adventure Rwanda, Souljourn is doing just that.”
The Yoga Adventure Rwanda retreat runs June 27, 2018 – July 6, 2018. Rates vary based on accommodation selections.
